A Picture Book a Day, Our Favorite Christmas Tradition
Happy December, friends!!!
It is officially the joyful month of anticipation as we celebrate our coming King! This month can be simple and not so chaotic, if you prepare your hearts, minds, and home towards that end.
For the cozy month of December, I like to wrap up 31 picture books and let the kids take turns opening one book every morning to read as a family. It's one of our favorite traditions! I've compiled some of our favorite books (most are about Christmas, but there are some beautiful winter-themed books as well) and I have also created a downloadable reading calendar that you can print!
If you only own a handful of Christmas books, don't let this overwhelm you! Check these out from the library and wrap them up… or find gently used books on betterworldbooks.com or thriftbooks.com for a great deal.
My hope is that this list helps you connect with your kids over quality literature in the busy month of December. Taking time to cuddle up and read just one book a day can help you do that! I hope you love these books as much as we do and discover some new favorites.
Looking for Christmas picture books specifically for preschoolers?
See our Christmas Picture Books For Preschoolers list! These books are all part of our Christmas guide for preschoolers, Come to the Manger: A Christ-Centered Christmas Guide, which is recommended for families with children ages 3-7.
I am excited about reading alongside of your families this December!
