We will not be printing more of this original Advent guide, though we will keep the digital version available. Our brand new Advent guide will be released on November 4, 2024!
The Morning Time Advent Guide by Brighter Day Press includes 4 weeks of Charlotte Mason-inspired readings and activities. This guide is recommended for ages 5-10, but also includes weekly preschool projects for younger siblings. Our family takes the month of December "off" from our typical homeschool schedule and curriculum, and this Advent guide will take its place. However, you could also use this guide alongside your normal curriculum or before you send your children off to school in the morning.
This lovely advent guide was exactly what I was looking for and just what our family needed for a sweet “advent school” season. During advent we take a break from regular morning school lessons to spend time deeply soaking in the beauty of the incarnation of the Son of God. I love every part of this beautifully curated advent guide and my children (ages 3-11y) loved it, too. I have already recommended it to several other friends to use with their families and we will be using it again, too!!
I would buy the hard copy in the future ✨
The Advent Guide
I have 5 kids: 8, 6, 4, 3, and 1. My older three have enjoyed sitting through the readings, prayer, and singing while the three year old has enjoyed joining in for the activities and stories. I love that it's appropriate for all of them and that the activities aren't overwhelming. The one thing I wish is that there was a list of supplies at the beginning so I could grab everything I need at once without having to do weekly shopping. This would also help me to do the crafts whenever I have time in a day which can be random with this age group. Overall, it's the best advent study we've been able to do compared to previous attempts!
We are so happy with our Morning Advent book! We got the one that is suitable for younger years but it is still relevant for older kids to enjoy as well. It is laid out with devotionals for each day and a memory verse for each week. I'm using this in the classroom for Bible class. There are also recipes and crafts to do through out the book to make the study interactive. We are planning to make the star cookies to give out at a small church where we have a music ministry. This book also shares art work and Christmas carol's that all lend to the education of advent. I highly recommend this book!
